The flents are smooth softer plastic that hugs the entire inside. we had a very difficult time keeping the earplanes in.we were constantly “screwing” them in tighter the whole flight it was awful. But we will say this, in a pinch the corkscrew earplanes do work and they are better than the sinus pressure headaches and inner ear pain that we used to endure without ear plugs so pick your poison we guess. Hope this helps.

Question Question 2

we usually wait until they serve the drinks to take them out and we put them back in when they say we have 1/2 or so till landing. You can also tell when your ears start to pop and sometimes we don’t take them out at all to coverup some of the noise. Hope that helped 🙂

Question Question 7

Directions: Do You Push These Tightly In To Ear To Create A Seal In The Ear?

we have used these a few years now and we don t push them in too far or tight. You just put them in just like any earplugs. You can tell when there not equalizing the pressure because your ears will start to hurt, so you can adjust it. They ve always worked for us. we hope this helps.

Our Insights:

See our insights (based on our own experience after purchasing and using the product, or based on some research work) on Flents – Flite Mate Pressure Reducing Ear Plugs – flight ear plugs, these might be useful for better understanding.

We had to write a review on this product. Last year we flew to orlando from tx and our 8 year old son experienced beyond horrible head/sinus pain on the descent. We bought these just before a flight last week and we were holding our breath for our poor child. It worked. We cannot believe something like this could make such a difference for our son. We thought he would hate flying because his first experience was so incredibly painful. We are so grateful and wanted to make sure other parents kniw about these for their kids if they have the same problems on descent. We did keep them in his ears the entire flight, although not sure if that is required. This is a god-send for sure.

We used to get unbearable ear pain while flying, as if someone was stabbing our eardrum with an ice pick. The earplanes ear plugs were recommended to me, but after trying them out for awhile we found they only worked about 20% of the time. Looking for another option, we picked these up a couple months ago. We have used them on about 10 flights over the past couple months, and have not experienced any ear pain during those trips. We highly recommend these ear plugs. One other note: the package says that for best results to use them no more than five times. We have adhered to this, but in reading other reviews it seems that you can probably keep reusing them and still get great results.

The reason we love these more than ear planes is because these fit more into your ear. They are smaller in depth and more comfortable, making for a better trip. With these we can wear headphones with noise canceling (which also reduces ear pain). These are the only ones we will use for flying. We wash them and use them more than once.

These worked perfectly. We have used the earplane ones several times that you can buy at walmart or anywhere else. They work some of the time. These worked perfectly every time. They work so well we forget how much they are helping me. If we don’t use something as the plane is descending we get such pain in our ears that we think our head is going to explode. With these in our ears we had no pain at all. It is absolutely incredible.

We highly recommend these for air travel. Every time we fly, we struggle with ear pain and pressure for days (including one incident of barotrauma that lingered for months). We have worn these on 5+ round trips abroad and had no problems so long as put them in before take off. Once the plane is done ascending, we take them out and then put them back in before the plane descends. They allow our ears to properly and easily “pop” without any pain and no pressure issues. We also used earplanes in the past, which worked, but the ribs/shape left our ear canals sore after a couple wears. We usually wear them for about 4 flights and then replace them with a new pair (they seem to still work, just start to get dirty).

We get severe sinus pain in our forehead when we fly. During descent our forehead feels like it’s going to split open and it was extremely painful and scary. The only thing that helps is wearing earplugs for air pressure. We found the earplanes brand a few years ago and they kept the sinus pain at bay, but they were very painful in our ears. We decided to give the flents a try on our last flight and they were awesome. No pressure discomfort, no sinus pain, and they were so soft in our ears. We will never use anything else.

Our son and we both have a lot of discomfort when planes start descending. We bought a pair for each of us for our last flight. They really helped him a lot. He said he had no pain. We had trouble getting one of mine to stay in (although our ear might be shaped weird – we have trouble with earbuds too. ) but it did seem to help our other ear. We think these are definitely worth a try.

We have always hated flying. Our ears do not pop properly. Post flying we can go from 2-4 days without being able to hear. Our last flight prior to trying out earplugs was excruciating. It felt like someone had an ice pick that they were jamming into our ears for 20 minutes during the plane’s descent. We flew last week with these earplugs. Best flight of my life. We had minimal discomfort and no hearing loss post flight. The earplugs regulated the pressure wonderfully. We will never again fly without them. If there is even a chance these will work for you, it is probably worth the cost.

We think these really helped us out. We didn’t experience the pain we normally do with flying for the majority of our flights. Only for a few minutes did we experience discomfort, and it went away almost immediately. We are glad we bought these because usually it is excruciating. Would highly recommend these to anyone whose ears cannot pop on planes and then they cannot hear for their entire vacation.

We wear these earplugs whenever flying now, we prefer these over the earplanes now, because easier to put in and take out, but our daughter’s still stick with the earplanes, because those work for them and afraid to try something different. But these work well for us, and we never have any ear pain during take-offs and landings while traveling by plane. Really love these. We were happy that we were able to find these online, use to get them at meijer’s, but they no longer sell them.

These really work for us and hard to find locally. If you have ear pain when the plane lands this works the best.

Excellent ear plugs for flying. We have always had difficulty clearing our ears while flying and these plugs helped out quite a bit. Our ears cleared while ascending/descending without a problem. Definitely would recommend for anyone with ear canal issues while flying.

Relieves the pressure very well.

No ear popping upon take off or landing. Decreased interior noise drastically making it easier to sleep on a 12 hour flight. Easy installation and they stay in place after inserted. Excellent product.

These worked well once we could get them in correctly. It took us a few times to get these in right. We couldn’t get them in securely without trying a few times. We wore these on a trip to italy where we were getting over a cold and our ears were somewhat plugged. We were terrified that our eardrums would rupture or something. We went to the doctor and he gave us a prescription for the steroid med pack. We also took a decongestant before the flight. In addition, we chewed gum. These flents were our security blanket and they worked on the flight there. On the flight home, we don’t think we had a tight enough seal because we had to reuse a pair after our tries to get them in right and they weren’t as tight as they should have been. They definitely helped but we did have some pain on decent. Do yourself a favor and get 4 or more pairs if you have never used them before. You will have backups while you practice putting them in. The packaging even says to use them once, they don’t work as well if you put them in and take them out a few times. If you get them in right, you will save yourself a lot of pain.

The ear plugs helped considerably with the adjustments in flight and you could still hear the person beside you relatively well. We did not leave them in the entire flight (11 hours, just during landing and take-off and a small rough weather patch. We have trouble tolerating things in our ears, but these did ok.

Our son says he feels they definitely helped him. We don’t fly that often. The last time we flew it was his first flight and he ended up almost in tears because his ears hurt so bad and ended up with ear infection. This was only his 2nd time flying so we bought these hoping he didn’t have any ear problems. His ears didn’t hurt this time and he didn’t get an ear infection. We also had him take sudafed and used afrin before this flight, which we did not do before.

Works ok but not as well as the competition.

Work great when flying. Our ears hurt really bad when we fly and these help a ton. Once in a while we will still have a little pain but nothing like if we didn’t have them.

We did not expect this product to work but it did wonderfully. No idea how it works but it definitely cut down our ear pain while flying by about 90 percent. We put them in at start of flight and left in entire flight.
